Dr James Curry (Chiropractor) brings a wealth of experience to South Hedland Country Chiropractic. James worked in the Newman branch for 5 years before taking some time to work and travel overseas and has been in the Hedland clinic since 2019. James has a particular interest in musculoskeletal issues in children.
James graduated from Murdoch University in Western Australia with first class honours and dux of class. With over a decade of practice experience, James has worked with people from all walks of life. This experience has ranged from working with world-class sporting athletes, to Australia’s iconic jackaroo’s and jillaroo’s, miners and farmers, to families, children, infants and many, many more. Because of such a diverse variety of experiences, James holds a Diplomate in Chiropractic Paediatrics, and is working on finalising his Sports Chiropractic (ICSSP) certification.
Treatment techniques that James is certified in include:
- Chiropractic Adjustments (Diversified/Gonstead)
- Low force techniques (instrument assisted, activator, mobilisation, blocking)
- Soft Tissue Therapy (muscle release and trigger point)
- Dry Needling Therapy (medical acupuncture)
- Cupping Therapy
- Kinesiology taping (Rocktape and Sportape)
Outside of practice James also sits as a board member for Hands On India, an Australian Chiropractic Healthcare Charity that operates annual volunteer health camps to rural India. He volunteers with St John Ambulance Australia as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer. James spends his spare time adventuring and exploring the Australian outback with Country Captures.
